On Thursday morning, the General Director of the Ministry of Health, Christina Giannaki, spoke on the Front Page about the good news that came from Israel about the 4-year-old girl. The child had been transferred to Israel a few days before Christmas after having previously been infected with streptococcus type A.

"On 21/12 there was a huge operation for the little boy. When he went to Israel he was in a very bad condition. He was extubated the day before yesterday, at 6am my phone rang and I was told about the baby girl. I was very happy...", said Mrs. Giannaki.

"The child is on continuous oxygen therapy. With the necessary rehabilitation that will be done to the child, we expect everything to go well. If all goes well, the child will return at the end of the month. The goal is for these pediatric cases to be handled in NHS hospitals," he said in closing.
