Authorities mobilized after receiving information that a 20-year-old asylum seeker and recipient of public assistance was causing disruption at the Welfare Office in Kato Polemidia.  

According to the Police, at noon on Thursday (27/1) information was received about a 20-year-old man, who was causing a disturbance by refusing to leave the Welfare Office, which would be closed.

Members of the police rushed to the spot and made recommendations to the 20-year-old to leave.

However, the young man refused and threatened to burn the building.

He was subsequently arrested by police for the spontaneous offense of threatening violence and was taken into custody.

Polemidia Police Station continues the examinations.
