The great concern of the Government, in relation to the epidemiological picture of Cyprus, which in recent days shows increased positive cases and hospitalizations, is currently freezing any thought of de-escalating measures against the spread of the coronavirus, while the Government does not rule out the possibility to differentiate her plan if the situation gets out of hand again.

The Council of Ministers met in the morning for the new relaxation of measures, however, decided not to make any announcements and to meet again next Friday, in order to monitor the development of the situation until then, before taking final decisions.

As KYPE is informed, until Friday, if the picture does not change, the Government is not excluded to differentiate its plan.

Also, the same information states that if the situation shows that it "escapes", the Government may even need to delay the announcement of new relaxations.

According to what KYPE broadcast yesterday, the relaxations that are in the Government's plan for the next phase, are the traffic that will now be allowed until 11.00 in the evening, the opening of restaurants and cafes, as well as the return of High School students in their classes.

The implementation of the relaxations was scheduled for March 16, however, at this time everything will depend on Friday's data.

Also, the Government's plan includes the number of sms messages that citizens are entitled to send for traffic approval, with the information stating that they remain at two and are not expected to be removed before the end of March.

After all, in relation to home gatherings, the prevailing scenario at the moment is for the gatherings to remain at four people.

Regarding the protocol that will govern the operation of the restaurants, this has not been prepared yet, since its completion will depend on the image that will exist until Friday.

The protocol will cover, inter alia, the maximum number of people that can be served in the dining areas.
