CYPRUS: 398 new cases detected - All information

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 13, 2021:

- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded today COVID-19, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 238.

- 201 patients COVID-19 34 of whom are in serious condition.

- A total of 43,940 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).

- 398 (positivity rate: 0,91%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases at 39,277.

The current results are detailed.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:

No patient deaths were recorded today with COVID-19. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 remains 238, of which:

158 men (66%), and

- 80 women (34%).

The average age of those who die from the disease is 79 years.

B. Patients:

In total, 201 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 34 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 34 patients who are critical, 18 are intubated, three are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 13 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 43,940 laboratory diagnoses performed today, 3,232 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 40,708 by the antigen rapid test, 398 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:

• 147 cases from 927 samples obtained through the process of tracking close contact (primary contacts) cases.
• 2 cases of 794 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
• 35 cases from 1,097 samples taken through private initiative.
• 8 cases from 228 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
• 3 cases from 144 samples taken under the immigrant structures control program.
• 8 cases from 420 samples examined by the method of antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories.
• 195 cases from 40,288 samples examined by the method of antigen rapid test through the program of the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:

• 42 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
