No thromboembolic event was reported in Cyprus after the AstraZeneca vaccine or other vaccine was given, according to the Ministry of Health, on the occasion of the incidence of thromboembolic events recorded in Austria in people who received the AZ vaccine.
The ministry said in a statement that the EMA Security Committee, PRAC, said "there is no link between the vaccine and the two incidents".
"A similar incident has not been reported in Cyprus, neither from the specific batch of AZ, nor from any other batch of AZ vaccines or other vaccine. The issue is closely monitored by the Pharmacovigilance Department of the Pharmaceutical Services and if a new development occurs, there will be information ", the Ministry states.
