A 40-year-old cyclist was abducted by a passing vehicle last night in the coastal area of ​​Geroskipou, while a 22-year-old driver is being held for the case, who left the scene after the accident.

According to a written announcement of the Police, the traffic accident happened last night in the coastal area of ​​Geroskipou.

Specifically, yesterday at 19:00 in the afternoon, an unknown person was driving his car on Eratou Street in Geroskipou in an easterly direction towards the Kolonis roundabout.

At one point on the road as he was passing by on the right three cyclists, who were riding in the completely left lane of the road, one behind the other, the unknown driver changed lane to enter the left lane resulting in hitting the first cyclist who is a 40 year old Greek Cypriot and throw him to the ground.

The 40-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the General Hospital of Paphos and it was found that he had a broken elbow and entered the operating room while he was subsequently detained for further treatment.

Members of the Paphos Traffic Police visited the scene they were planning, while further examinations revealed that the unknown driver who left the scene of the accident is a 22-year-old foreign resident of Paphos.

An arrest warrant was issued against him, he was arrested and is being held to investigate the case.
