The fullness of November in the hotels of Paphos ranges in 30% - 35%, according to the president of the Paphos Hoteliers Association Thanos Michailidis. In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Michailidis said that the first fortnight of November is moving satisfactorily, however the second fortnight is in recession, as occupancy tends to have a downward trend.

He added that November prices are clearly lower from the summer months. There is a very large chain that starts from the hotels and that helps the Cypriot economy, he said.

He pointed out that October moved to satisfactory levels and with small deviations from October 2019, adding that this satisfies them. However, he said, a whole month can not change a whole year.
He added that November can be characterized in relation to the state of the pandemic that we face as satisfactory under the circumstances.

Mr. Michailidis said that still they do not have a clear picture of how the next winter season will develop because all bookings tend to be last minute.

In relation to dystocia In finding human resources, the president of PASYXE Paphos noted that there is a big problem and this worries them especially about whether in time they will be able to meet high occupancy without staff.

Asked about his predictions for the future in the hotel industry of the place, Mr. Michailidis said that It 's too early for predictions, however if all goes well with pandemic management and we are in a much better position than we were this year, surely 2022 will be much better than 2021.

The "difficulties" in relation to the pandemic are said to have passed, he said.

We have, he said, learned lessons from the pandemic as Cyprus, that is, to see again our dependencies in the specific markets. This means, he continued, that we should not reduce the markets that we are dependent on today and are important, but simply add more, not even to reduce the dependence and enrich the Paphos clientele.
