In Larnaca, a child, aged about 6, reportedly remained on a bus after a summer school trip in which he participated, while the other children had gotten off.

As Spyros Chrysostomou, press representative of the Larnaca Police Directorate, told KYPE, "yesterday Wednesday the child who participated in a summer school, went on a bus trip with other children. However, when the bus returned to the school grounds and while all the other children got off it, the particular child seems to have fallen asleep on the seat, as a result of which he remained in the vehicle."

He added that "according to the information available, the child was finally found inside the bus an hour later. The incident was reported yesterday, Wednesday, August 7, to the TAE of Larnaca, members of which are investigating the circumstances under which the child was found on the bus later."

According to Mr. Chrysostomou "the competent State Services dealing with summer schools were also informed about the incident".
