Fourteen children with coronavirus, most of them under the age of 5, are being treated at Makareio Hospital, according to the Director of Pediatrics.
Speaking on Tuesday, Abraham Elias said that this is the largest number of simultaneous hospitalization of children with coronavirus in Makareio since the beginning of the pandemic.
However, he indicated that these are not very serious incidents.
He also said that despite the increased flow of imports in the last week, the situation remains manageable.
Mr. Abraham noted that two children are also being treated in Makareio with the multisystemic inflammatory syndrome - Misk, which is the most serious late complication of the coronavirus.
