Shocking allegations were heard in Parliament during the debate on school bus vandalism.
An official of the Ministry of Transport complained that a student injured a bus driver with a "paintball" weapon while making a route, putting everyone in danger.
In a second case, a student threw a firecracker inside the bus, which hit a student on the head and exploded.
Concern was also caused by the complaint by the MP of DIKO, Chrysantho Savvidis, that there is a video circulating of students sitting on the steps of the bus, on the way from school to their village, which poses huge risks.
The general director of the Ministry of Transport, Neophytos Neophytou, said that there was a case where the Police were called, a check was made and knives were found in the students' bags. "When the driver is driving, he must be focused on the road, he cannot control what is happening behind him," he stressed.
To prevent such phenomena, the Ministry of Transport and bus companies are working on the use of cameras on the routes and each company will have access to the material.
