The Independent Candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Andreas Mavroyiannis, today sent a letter to Mr. Haris Pogiatzis, President of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority.
The letter concerns what the journalist Mr. Makarios Drousiotis claims in his book "Mafia State", regarding the relationship attributed by the author, through his research, to the President of the Republic himself, as well as to people from his immediate surroundings his relationship with Russian oligarch Rybolovlev and the actions the author claims were taken by government and state officials to further his private interests.
Mr. Andreas Mavroyiannis, calls on the Authority to immediately begin an investigation of all the allegations contained in the book about the acts of corruption in the public and private sector cited by the author.
