On Friday, October 1, 2021, the traditional military parade will take place in the context of the celebrations of the 61st anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus.
The parade will start at 11 am on Joseph X '' Joseph Avenue and will be attended by motorized and pedestrian units as well as flying vehicles of the National Guard.
Before the start of the parade, the official reception of the President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis will take place and then the flag will be raised, the National Anthem will be raised and 21 salutes will be fired.
The parade will be welcomed by the President of the Republic accompanied by the Minister of Defense Mr. Charalambos Petridis and the Chief of the National Guard Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis.
The Greek Government will be represented by the Minister of National Defense Mr. Nikos Panagiotopoulos who will be accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of National Defense General Konstantinos Floros. The military parade will also be attended by ambassadors and Defense Ministers of foreign countries.
In this year's military parade, the presence of the public is allowed, according to relevant instructions of the Ministry of Health. A prerequisite is the possession of a safe pass and the use of a protective mask. It is noted that during the parade, sampling checks will be carried out.
For persons 12 years of age and older, it is necessary to present either a negative laboratory test or a rapid antigen test for the disease. COVID-19 with the sampling taking place within 72 hours, or a vaccination certificate for the disease COVID-19 at least one dose and provided that a period of three weeks has elapsed since the date of vaccination, or a certificate of recovery from his illness COVID-19, valid for six months from the date of sampling of their initial positive diagnosis.
It is understood that the presentation of a European Digital Covid Certificate of the European Union (EU Digital Covid Certificate) is acceptable for control purposes.
