Members of the Police, while carrying out traffic checks last night in the province of Nicosia, stopped a car, which was traveling at a speed of 105 mph instead of 50, which is the permitted limit on the particular road.
The 44-year-old driver of the vehicle was subjected to a breathalyzer test, with a final reading of 88 μg instead of 22 μg, as a result of which he was arrested for a self-inflicted crime.
Today he is expected to be brought before the District Court of Nicosia, for immediate registration of the case.
The Central Police Station of Nicosia continues the examinations.
