A major operation by the Larnaca Police Department has been underway since this morning in a specific area near the city's port roundabout, with the aim of identifying illegal aliens, and by 8 am, eight people had been arrested.
According to the Police, members of the Police Directorate and the Aliens and Immigration Service (YM) are taking part in the operation and it is being carried out in an apartment building in which foreigners were residing.
So far, eight persons have been arrested who are alleged to have resided illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
It is noted that the Police operation will continue for several more hours, at least until noon.
