A 63-year-old man is hospitalized in extremely serious condition in Nicosia, following a serious accident that occurred in a department store parking lot, while he was trying to help a driver park.
The incident took place on the morning of Tuesday, December 30, and has caused intense emotion. The 63-year-old was in the store's parking lot when, with good intentions, he offered to guide a female driver through the parking process, without being able to imagine the tragic outcome.
According to the information so far, for reasons that are under investigation, the vehicle began to move while the door was open. The door hit a parked car and slammed shut, trapping the man and seriously injuring him.
Panic immediately prevailed at the scene, with bystanders attempting to provide assistance until an ambulance arrived. The injured man was rushed to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors determined his condition to be critical and proceeded with intubation.
The 63-year-old is hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit, fighting for his life. The case is being examined by the Nicosia Traffic Police, which is taking statements and analyzing all possibilities in order to fully determine the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
