After the meeting of the Minister of Education, with the leadership of OELMEK, the competent service of the Ministry, proceeded to amendments on the circular, for the four-month exams.
The oral assessment will be 60% of the grade
According to the amendments announced by the Ministry of Education, 60% of the students' grade will be the oral examination, which concerns:
(i) Student participation in the classroom and / or workshop
(ii) Homework.
"The two points will have a weight of 50%. It is understood that the teacher takes seriously the performance of the students / three in both points ", it is mentioned in the circular.
(iii) Twenty-minute written graded exercise (warned) or a graded individual or group study-project (creative work), which will have a weight of 10%.
As noted by the Ministry of Education in the circular, the teacher will have an additional 5%, which will concern:
-Discrimination activities, outside the classroom, related to the specific course, and / or volunteer work. 5% acts as a score on oral performance.
"Explanation: This percentage can be provided by the teacher, if it is proven that the student has a similar action and does not cover 60% of the oral performance in areas (i), (ii) and (iii) ».
40% of the grade will be given to the written evaluation
Regarding the written assessment of the student, according to the modifications proposed by the Ministry of Education, he will receive 40% of the grade.
Specifically:
1. For the examined courses the written evaluation includes:
(i) a central ninety-minute (90΄) assessment essay, with an obligation to provide the necessary facilities for eligible students, as defined by the special committee of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, which will be weighted 30%. For the course of Modern Greek and the language courses the duration of the central assessment test will be one hundred and thirty five (135΄) minutes.
(ii) a written warning exercise lasting up to forty-five (45΄) minutes, with an obligation to provide the necessary facilities for eligible students, as defined by the special committee of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the which will have a weight of 10%.
2. For the courses not examined, the written evaluation includes:
Only one warned forty-five (45΄) written exam per Four Months. In the non-examined courses, the students have the right to submit a request for improvement of a four-month competition grade.
3. It is clarified that for the courses of Physical Education, Art, Music and other courses of special character, special arrangements have been made by the EME specialties.
Delivery of grades by teachers
According to the Ministry of Education, teachers must submit to the Secretariats of the school units the oral grade (60%) and separately the grades for the written assessment (10% and 30%).
At the same time, in their personal grade they must keep all those data (oral and written evaluation) that can document the grade they have delivered.
What applies to student-athletes
Those students who are absent from international sports events / Olympiads or other approved international events, during the written evaluation period of the four-month period (9/12/2019 - 20/12/2019), will have the opportunity to attend for written evaluation on the dates 07/01/2020 - 10/1/2020, when the written examinations are carried out to improve the grade of the exams in the Non-Examined courses, it is mentioned in the circular.
