New Yellow Warning for Severe Thunderstorms - When does it come into effect?

A new yellow warning for strong storms was issued on the morning of Monday 23/09 by the Meteorological Service. The yellow warning will be in effect from 12:00 noon on Monday until 18:00 that evening.

Detailed weather forecast

Weak low pressure and an unstable air mass, which is gradually receding from tonight, is affecting the area.

Today the weather will initially be mostly clear but will gradually become partly cloudy and cloudy at times and localized showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the mountains, inland and in the south. Hail may also fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly south-west to north-west weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough. The temperature will rise to around 30 degrees in the interior, around 28 on the coasts and around 21 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, locally increased cloudiness will be observed at intervals, mainly on the coasts, which may initially give isolated showers. Winds will blow mainly south-west to north-west weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 19 degrees in the interior, around 20 on the coast and around 11 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday the weather will initially be mostly clear, but in the afternoon temporarily increased clouds may give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains. On Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be mostly sunny.

The temperature will gradually rise over the three days to fluctuate slightly above the average climatic values.
