The Meteorology Department has issued a yellow warning for isolated strong storms that are expected to affect the island, mainly in inland areas. Rainfall is expected to range between 35 and 50 millimeters per hour, with hail possible.
The warning will be in effect from 11:00 until 17:00 on the same day.
According to the weather forecast from the Department of Meteorology, today, the weather will initially be partly cloudy with the possibility of isolated rain, mainly in the western half, however, at noon and early in the afternoon it will become mainly cloudy with local rain and isolated storms.
Hail is likely to fall in a storm, while snow or sleet is expected to fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.
Winds will blow mainly southwest to west, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be slightly rough.
The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees inland and on the coast and to 5 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy, while isolated rains are possible, mainly on the coast. Winds will blow mainly northwest to northeast weak, 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. The temperature will drop to 5 degrees inland, around 9 on the south and east coasts, around 10 on the west and north coasts and to 1 degree in the higher mountains, where frost will form locally.
