New EMMA yellow warning for storms, in effect from 11:00 tonight until 9:00 tomorrow morning.
Isolated strong storms are expected to affect the island from time to time. Initially, mainly the western and southern coasts and progressively the remaining areas. Hail is expected to fall in a storm while winds may change and strengthen.
Rainfall intensity locally may exceed 35 millimeters per hour.

Weak low blood pressure affects the area. Sparse dust will be suspended in the atmosphere from time to time.
In the afternoon, the weather will be partly cloudy and temporarily cloudy, while isolated rain is expected, without excluding the isolated short storm. On the highest peaks of Troodos, sleet or even snow is not excluded. The winds will blow mainly northeasterly to southeasterly, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and temporarily moderate to strong on the coast, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough and temporarily to rough in the north.
Tonight, the weather will be mainly cloudy, with local rain and isolated storms expected, initially in the southwest, west and north and gradually in the rest of the areas. Hail is expected to fall in a storm. Winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and temporarily on the coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally remain a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 9 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast and around 4 degrees in the higher mountains. In leeward areas of the mountains, frost may form during the dawn hours.
Tomorrow, the weather will be mainly cloudy and local rain and isolated storms are expected. Hail is also expected to fall in a storm. On the higher peaks of Troodos, it is not ruled out that sleet or even snow will fall. The weather will improve noticeably from the afternoon onwards. The winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough on the northern coast and slightly rough on the other coasts. The temperature will rise to around 18 degrees inland, around 19 on the coast and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Wednesday, Christmas Eve, the weather will be partly cloudy, with isolated rain showers expected.
On Thursday, Christmas Day, the weather will remain partly cloudy and at times mainly cloudy, while isolated rains are expected, without ruling out the occurrence of an isolated storm, mainly after noon.
On Friday, the weather will remain mainly cloudy at times with isolated showers or even thunderstorms, mainly after noon.
The temperature until Friday is not expected to change significantly, remaining slightly above the average climatic values of the season.
