Atanas Bornev, 43 years old, from Bulgaria, a permanent resident of Limassol, died in a new deadly collision that happened last night in the province of Larnaca. A 23-year-old man was also slightly injured in the collision.
The collision happened around 9.30pm. yesterday, at a point on the Limassol - Nicosia highway, in spite of Kornos, when under circumstances that are being investigated, the 43-year-old lost control of the car he was driving, as a result of which he hit the dividing railing of the road and subsequently collided with a car he was driving 23 years old.
As a result of the collision, the 43-year-old was trapped in his vehicle and it took the intervention of EMAK members to extricate him. The two drivers were taken to Nicosia General Hospital, where the 43-year-old was pronounced dead, while the 23-year-old, after receiving first aid, was discharged.
Larnaca Traffic Police is investigating the causes of the collision.
