The Police are investigating the circumstances under which Igor Tkachev, 44 years old, from Russia, a resident of Nicosia, lost his life in a fatal road collision that occurred last Tuesday, February 03, on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway.
Specifically, at around 1.10 in the morning of February 03, the 44-year-old was riding a motorcycle on the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, in the direction of Larnaca, where at a point shortly after the junction with the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, under circumstances that are being investigated, his motorcycle overturned and crashed into the railing on the right side of the road.
The 44-year-old ended up in the left safety lane, while his motorcycle came to a stop in the right lane of the highway, where a car driven by a 26-year-old man then crashed into it.
Police members rushed to the scene, as well as an ambulance crew that transported the 44-year-old to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
