In a new fatal road collision that occurred around 6:00 this morning in Kokkinotrimithia, Eleni Stavrinidou, aged 77, from Kokkinotrimithia, died.
Specifically, during the above time, according to the data under investigation, while a 23-year-old man was driving his car on Irinis and Filias Street in Kokkinotrimithia, under circumstances that are being investigated, he ran over and injured a 77-year-old woman, who was a pedestrian.
The 23-year-old then left the scene without assistance.
The 77-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where the doctor on duty certified her death.
Then, around 8 am, the 23-year-old presented himself at the Kokkinotrimithia Police Station and was then transferred to the Nicosia Traffic Police for further investigation.
The exact cause of death will be determined by the scheduled autopsy on the body of the unfortunate woman.
