A fatal accident occurred yesterday shortly after 19:00 in Larnaca, with the victim being 18-year-old Iulia Michaela Vasile from Romania, a permanent resident of Cyprus.
According to Rick's correspondent in Larnaca, a vehicle with 4 people, which was moving on Artemis Avenue in the direction of the old GSZ, deviated from its course, climbed the pavement, cut off a sign and crashed violently into a tree where it stopped.
Iulia Michaela Vasile was fatally injured in the collision, while an 18-year-old asylum seeker from Jordan was slightly injured. The two youths were riding in the back seat of the vehicle.
Immediately after the accident, the driver and passenger of the car left the scene and are being sought.
During the police investigations, it was established that the vehicle involved in the accident yesterday afternoon had been declared stolen by its owner.
The 18-year-old Jordanian was arrested to facilitate investigations, while an arrest warrant is expected for the driver and passenger of the vehicle.
