In a road collision that occurred around 6.15 yesterday afternoon on the Kantou - Sounio road in Limassol, Chrysanthi Volou Konstantinou, 78 years old from Limassol, a resident of Sounio, lost her life.

Specifically, while Constantinou was driving her car on the above road, under circumstances that are being investigated by the Police, she collided with a car traveling in the opposite lane with a 30-year-old driver. As a result of the collision, the 30-year-old's vehicle collided with a car traveling in the same direction as him and was driven by a 69-year-old man with a 64-year-old woman as a passenger.

The unfortunate 78-year-old woman was trapped in the wreckage of her car and needed the assistance of the Fire Department to free her.

All occupants of the vehicles involved were transported by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital where the doctors on duty certified the death of 78-year-old Konstantinou. The 30-year-old, 69-year-old and 64-year-old were provided with first aid and discharged.

Both the 30-year-old and the 69-year-old were breathalyzed with zero results.
