"The Archbishop can not punish priests who are not vaccinated"

The position that the Archbishop can not punish the priests who were not vaccinated was expressed at noon by the theologian Theodoros Kyriakou.

He may, as he said, impose a three-month holiday on them. "But there is no reason to punish a priest because he is not vaccinated," said the theologian.

"But there is a reason to punish him because he is propagandizing against vaccines. That is where the Archbishop had to focus. There is no overall decision. Only with a Synodal decision can such a thing be done but this can not be done because the Synod on the subject of the pandemic is absent. She only makes wishes (s.s. the Synod), she is afraid to make decisions because it concerns its members.

The reason is the Archbishopric elections that paralyzed the Synod. "They do not want to create conflicts or make someone unhappy", said Mr. Kyriakou.
