Scooter driver dragged a woman and a toddler – He left the scene

As a result, the mother and her toddler fell to the ground and the child suffered a serious head injury.

At around 3.20 pm yesterday, Monday, December 08, while a 43-year-old woman, who was holding her child, aged one year and four months, was crossing a pedestrian crossing on a cycle path near 28th October Street, in Limassol, under circumstances that are being investigated, she was allegedly hit by a passing scooter operator, who was riding on the cycle path.

As a result, the mother and her toddler fell to the ground and the child suffered serious head injuries. The child was taken to a polyclinic in Limassol and then to Archbishop Makarios III Hospital, in Strovolos, Nicosia, where he is being treated. His health condition, according to the attending doctors, is considered serious, but out of danger.

The scooter operator left the scene of the collision, with the Police conducting investigations to verify his details and locate him. Anyone who knows anything that may help in locating him, or anything regarding the circumstances under which the incident occurred, is asked to contact the Limassol Traffic Police Department, on telephone number 25-805252, or the Citizen's Hotline, on telephone number 1460, or the nearest Police Station.

The Limassol Traffic Department continues the examinations.
