The State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) rejects the accusations of the owner of the nursing home in the District of Nicosia, where positive incidents were identified with Covid-19, that the virus was transmitted through the General Hospital of Nicosia.
In a statement, OKYPY emphasizes that such a thing is largely ruled out, because during the process of admission of resident nursing homes to Public Hospitals, a special protocol is followed, which provides for a laboratory examination for covid-19.
As the Organization explains, the same procedure is followed at the end of the treatment and a condition for granting discharge and the return of the said persons to the nursing home, is the examination with a negative result.
Therefore, OKYPY argues that the outbreak of infection should be sought elsewhere.
He also assures that the Public Hospitals take all the necessary measures for the protection of the patients and the health professionals who work in them.
In the meantime, after identifying the positives with Covid-19 in the specific nursing home, OKYPY states that it activated a special action plan and sent two Doctors on the spot, for a clinical examination of the people who tested positive.
He added that doctors had given the necessary instructions to isolate and isolate the positive individuals to prevent further spread of the virus.
