Overnight works will also be carried out tonight, Thursday, September 19, on the section of the Nicosia-Limessos highway, between Latsia and Pera Chorio Nisos, with the Police recommending caution to passing drivers. The work is completed tomorrow morning, Friday.
According to an announcement from the Department of Public Works, the works are being carried out on the section of the highway between the Latsion Weighing Station and the Alikos river bridge, in Pera Horio Nisos, in both directions, towards Nicosia and Limassol. They are held between the dates 09 and 19 September, 2024, during the days Monday to Thursday, from 10.00 in the evening, until 5.30 in the morning of the following day. During the work, two of the three traffic lanes are closed and traffic is diverted to the third lane of the motorway.
It is recalled that, from Monday, September 09, until December 23, 2024, the two lanes of the Nicosia-Limessos highway, in the direction of Limassol, will be closed to traffic for a distance of one kilometer, in the area of the Kalavasos bridge, where work will be carried out to repair and upgrade the bridge. The traffic from Nicosia to Limassol will be channeled on the highway to Nicosia, which will operate in two-way traffic, to Nicosia and to Limassol.
According to a relevant announcement by the Department of Public Works, during the works, the entrance to the highway, in the direction of Limassol, from the old Limassol-Nicosia road, at the Zygio junction, will also be closed. Traffic from the old road to the highway will be routed through the Governor's Shore interchange.
The Police recommends caution to passing vehicle drivers, who are asked to drive at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front, and comply with temporary road markings in the area of road works.
