The President of the Pancyprian Federation of Leisure Centre Owners, Neophytos Thrasyvoulou, expresses his satisfaction with the fact that during the first two months of Autumn, September and October, visitor rates at leisure centres exceeding 80% were recorded.
In statements to CNA, Mr. Thrasyvoulou said that the last two months have been very good and entrepreneurs in the catering industry throughout Cyprus are satisfied.
He also expressed the hope that this traffic will continue at least until November 15. What we want at the moment and are trying to achieve, said Mr. Thrasyvoulou, are the new support programs from the Ministry of Labor so that workers can remain in their jobs and be subsidized. He also continued, so that as many businesses as possible can remain open during the winter period.
He also pointed out that extending the tourist season was and remains a goal of the food industry since it contributes to the stabilization of businesses.
When asked about this, Mr. Thrasyvoulou said that all recreation centers are now open, however there are many that are expected to close.
The food industry world, he continued, is waiting for the first fortnight of November to make its final decisions.
He also said that they expect a bill currently in Parliament to move forward, so that, with the new tourist season, businessmen can be supported in securing their permits more easily, their operating permits can be maintained for a longer period, and each business can work the hours it needs to work in order to survive.
