He initially stated that he had received many phone calls from people who wanted to leave Ukraine and come to Cyprus.
He added that the Cypriots stand by the Ukrainians because they understand what invasion and refuge mean.
Ms. Andreou said that her family decided to stay in Ukraine, stressing that "I am very afraid for them but I can not do anything." He added that he talks to them every day.
