The autopsy on the body of the 6-year-old who died in her sleep is expected to be scheduled on Monday, according to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations Michalis Nikolaou.

Mr. Nikolaou stated that "the autopsy will be scheduled from Monday, because it is expected to secure some medical reports that will assist the Medical Examiner".

The Police in Paphos, he added, are investigating a case of the sudden death of a 6-year-old girl, a child of refugees from Nigeria.

The little girl lived in Paphos with her parents, who are asylum seekers, and had various health problems from birth, Mr. Nikolaou said.

On July 17, he underwent a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at Paphos General Hospital and was discharged at noon on Thursday.

At some point she lay down in her house and fell asleep, without waking up again. The little girl was transferred on Thursday evening to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital where it was found by the doctors on duty that she was dead.

Based on the Police examinations, there is no suspicion of criminal activity.
