More than 300 violations were detected and reported during traffic checks carried out by members of the Police, all over Cyprus, in the last 24 hours.
In the province of Famagusta, a targeted operation was carried out to control Buggy-type vehicles, tricycles and quadricycles.
During the operation, 21 drivers were reported for not using a protective helmet, while three quadricycles were confiscated, the drivers of which were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
The majority of complaints related to offenses which have been proven to be the main causes of serious and fatal traffic collisions, such as speeding, an offense for which more than 70 drivers were reported.
Traffic checks continue every day, with the aim of preventing fatal and serious traffic collisions, as well as reinforcing good road awareness by all road users.
