On the occasion of the International Day of the Elderly which was October 1st, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare is carrying out a Campaign under the title "Always Beside", which takes place during the All-Cyprus Week of the Elderly October 1-7.
In the context of the Campaign, the decision of the Government of Nikos Christodoulidis has already been announced for the preparation of a National Strategy and a National Action Plan for the Third Age under the coordination of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare and the participation of other Ministries, as well as competent bodies.
The aim of the Campaign is to raise awareness and inform about the actions and efforts made by the Government and especially the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare for issues concerning the elderly. Within the framework of the Campaign, various actions have been planned in collaboration with organized groups and agencies, such as events, honorary awards for Seniors who have contributed to society and visits by the Deputy Minister herself, as well as Neighborhood Social Workers in places Hospitality and Day Centers for the Elderly.
