An order suspending the operation of the premises was issued today by the District Court of Famagusta, following a request submitted by the Police, in relation to a case of operation of the premises without permission from the competent Authority, as well as compliance with a court decree.

This is a brewery in Paralimni, where during recent inspections by members of the Paralimni Police Station and the Famagusta Police Department, it was repeatedly found that the premises was operating without the necessary permission from the competent Authority. In addition, it was found that alcoholic beverages were exhibited and sold at the premises, also without the necessary permission from the competent Authority.

Following the filing of cases for trial by the District Court of Famagusta, the Police, through the Paralimni Police Station, submitted on August 11, a request to the Court, for the issuance of a decree temporarily suspending the operation of the premises until their trial. The Court approved the request of the Police, however, in a subsequent inspection, it was found by the members of the Police that the premises were in operation in violation of the Judicial Decree of temporary suspension of its operation.

The Police proceeded to register for a new case of operation of the premises without the necessary permission from the Competent Authority, as well as a case of disobedience of the Judicial Decree, while at the same time submitted a new request to the District Court of Famagusta, to issue a decree suspending the operation.

Following a hearing and after the Court examined the request of the Police, it issued today an absolute decree suspending the operation of the premises
