The need for full transparency and strict implementation of the rules of ethics that govern the medical profession, as well as the necessity of strict and multi-level control of the Health System by the competent bodies, is emphasized by the Pancyprian Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI), on the occasion of the case of the OKYpY doctor, who, according to complaints from patient relatives, repeatedly asked them for money, without receipts.
In its statement, PASYKI condemns "fully and categorically the phenomena of bribery and corruption of doctors" and assures society that the vast majority of doctors work daily with professionalism, dedication and respect for patients.
"Maintaining public trust," he notes, "is a top priority and for this reason we call for strict action against any action that undermines the prestige of the medical profession and the doctor's relationship with patients."
PASYKI announces that it will continue to support actions and initiatives that ensure ethics and transparency in the health sector, defending the dignity of both doctors and patients.
