The Pancyprian Union of Nurses (PA.SY.NO) in its announcement denounces the Health Insurance Organization for "excluding nurses and midwives from participating in positions announced by the Organization".

In the relevant press release it is clarified that the guild refers to the latest announcements of the General Director, Director, Senior Officer, Officer, which are published on the Organization's website, adding that it considers "unacceptable, incomprehensible and inadmissible the position of the OAU to ignore health professionals holding university degrees which reach up to the doctorate and to include other specialties in the service plans".

It further states that "after struggles and claims, the nursing and midwifery sector achieved its classification in the university scientific level, on the A8 - 10 - 11 scale, which means that the sector has irrevocably passed into the scientific structure and the workers in it have every right to claim, develop and fulfill positions in the administrative structure" and adds that "the announcement of the positions in the OAU without the inclusion of nursing and midwifery qualifications circumvents the principles of equality and impartiality according to the constitution of the Republic of Cyprus".

PA.SY.NO. states that "he has no issue with the inclusion of other health professionals but does not accept the fact that the nursing sector has been excluded".
