The National Anti-Drug Agency (YKAN) proceeded yesterday to destroy over 80 kilos of drugs.

The above quantity of drugs concerns narcotic substances seized in the context of an investigation into a total of 530 cases in the districts of Limassol and Larnaca.

Drug destruction procedures are organized and carried out at regular intervals in all provinces by the Ministry of Drug Control. The procedure is fully institutionalized, transparent and controlled and, in addition to representatives of the Police, representatives of the Pharmaceutical Services and the State Chemical Institute participate in it.

The drugs that are destroyed constitute evidence in cases for which all legal procedures have been completed in the trial of each case.
