The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices in April 2022 increased by 8,6% compared to April 2021, according to data published by the Statistical Service on Wednesday.

Compared to the previous month, it increased by 3,1%. For the period January - April 2022, there was an increase of 6,4% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Compared to April 2021, the categories Housing, Water Supply, Electricity and LPG with 20,9%, Transport with 17,5% and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages with 12% showed the largest changes.

Compared to March 2022, the largest changes were recorded in the categories Transport (7,8%) and Housing, Water, Electricity and LPG (7,1%).

For the period January - April 2022 compared to the corresponding period last year, the largest changes were observed in the categories Housing, Water, Electricity and LPG (16,5%), Transport (12,4%) and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (8,9 , XNUMX%).

The largest change in the economic categories compared to both April 2021 and March 2022 was observed in the Energy category with percentages of 33,6% and 8,9% respectively.
