The three persons who were injured yesterday Tuesday due to the collapse of a false ceiling in a shop in Paphos were discharged from Paphos General Hospital, while the circumstances of its fall are being investigated by the Police, in cooperation with other agencies, Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations Michalis Nikolaou told KYPE .
As Mr. Nikolaou said, around 12:30 a part of the false ceiling of a certain store that was in operation and housed in a department store in Paphos gave way.
The scene was visited by members of the Police, as well as officials of the Labor Inspection Office, officials of the Paphos District Self-Government Organization and technical engineers of the Municipality of Paphos.
From the on-site examinations, it was found that a ceiling measuring approximately 21x22 meters had caved in.
During the fall of the false ceiling, he told KYPE, Mr. Nikolaou slightly injured three people, who were taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital, where they were given first aid and discharged.
