Lately, misleading messages have been systematically sent to citizens, allegedly from banking institutions, inviting the public to contact specific phone numbers.

The content of the misleading messages states that credit or debit cards have been deactivated and for security purposes they invite citizens to call specific phone numbers (in order to extract information), which despite having an eight-digit Cyprus number, are actually fake numbers.
