With a yellow warning in effect, rains, storms and snow, the month of February entered for Cyprus.

From Tuesday evening, the snowfall started in Troodos, as you will see from the photo from the ski center in the area.

The Department of Meteorology, however, issued a yellow warning in effect from seven in the morning to seven in the evening on Wednesday, noting that a combination of rain and isolated strong storms is expected to affect the region. The total rainfall may locally exceed 55 millimeters per twelve hours.

The forecast says that today the weather will be mostly cloudy with rain and isolated storms, initially mainly in the western and southern areas and gradually in the rest of the island. It is expected to snow intermittently in the higher mountains, while snow or sleet may also fall in mountainous areas with a lower altitude.

Tonight the weather will initially be mostly cloudy and local rains or isolated storms are expected, as well as snow in the higher mountains, but also in mountainous areas with a lower altitude.

Gradually the weather will improve noticeably.
