The wish in February for the schoolyards to be filled with happy voices of children and for teachers and students to be in their classes again, expresses, in her statements to KYPE, the President of POED Myria Vassiliou.

Answering a question, Ms. Vassiliou said that distance education continued this week in all Primary Schools.

"Problems certainly exist and we want to believe that through the pan-Cypriot implementation of distance education, the Ministry of Education has now realized in practice the shortcomings and problems, in order to speed up the processes of solving them," he added.

Nevertheless, continued Ms. Vassilios, "our teachers find ways and solutions to overcome any obstacles, with the main focus on the education of their students."

"In this difficult period that our country is experiencing, we, the teachers, are called to keep alive, even from a distance, the Public School and the Public Education of our place. This is what we have done and this is what we will continue to do. "I wish everyone in February the schoolyards to be filled with happy voices of children and teachers and students to be in their classrooms again," he noted.

He also mentioned that there are of course teachers who continue to be at the forefront in these difficult conditions and provide lifelong learning.

"I am referring to the schools of Pre-Primary Education but also to the Special Schools. "The state should especially support these schools and the teachers who serve there, so that they can, despite the unfavorable epidemiological data, cope with the difficulties," he concluded.
