How much do Cyprus and Greece get for immigration?

Greece has been boosted for refugees by 2.22 billion euros since 2015, and Cyprus by 95,17 million, according to data released yesterday by the Commission in Brussels. The Commission publicly posted the details of all recipients of the above money and published statistical details regarding their distribution.

In detail, the Union's support to Greece for better management of migration and borders comes from three EU funds, of which 1,18 billion euros come from the AMIF Asylum and Immigration Fund, 404,5 million euros from the Fund Internal Security (ISF) and 643,6 million from the Emergency Assistance Mechanism.

AMIF funding supports Member States in managing migration flows, including in the areas of asylum, integration, legal migration and return. ISF funding supports Member States 'efforts to better protect the safety of citizens and to better protect and manage the EU' s external borders. It consists of two instruments: ISF Borders & Visas and ISF-Police.

Most Community funding under the Asylum and Immigration Fund as well as the Internal Security Fund is made available to the national authorities of a Member State at the beginning of each long-term EU budget period. EU funding for the current period (2014-2020) is also managed by implemented by the Member States' authorities through national programs agreed with the Commission, it said.

As for the Union support for Cyprus, again the total of 95,17 million euros comes from two Community resources, 40,08 million euros come from the Asylum and Immigration Fund and 55,08 million euros from the Internal Affairs Fund Security.
