The legalized assurance was given today by the new Council of Ministers before the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis.

The reassurance ceremony of the members of the new Council of Ministers, as well as the appointment ceremony of government officials, took place at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of state officials and members of the families of the new Ministers and government officials.

The new Minister gave the legal assurance and then the Ministers signed the Assurance Book.

In his speech, the President of the Republic stated that the main criteria for his selection were professionalism, scientific training, credibility, ethics and the will of the Ministers to contribute to the place.

I expect, said the President, the widest possible cooperation and consultation with all political forces, regardless of political or ideological positions. I expect the same cooperation with the organized social groups and the trade unions, in order to meet the expectations of the people.

In his rebuttal on behalf of the new Council of Ministers, the Foreign Minister assured that the new Ministers are fully aware of their responsibility and expectations and that they will have to live up to the great task that began five years ago.

We will make every effort, demonstrating the required ethos, to fully respond to our duties under your guidance and supervision, said Mr. Christodoulidis. He added that a lot of hard work awaits the new Ministers and stressed that there is no room for partisanship, discrimination, amateurism, but the work will be done in the general interest of the Cypriot people.
