He said that in addition to the measures announced in his speech on Friday, the following were decided both in terms of safeguarding public health and ensuring the economic survival of workers, businesses, financially vulnerable groups and the economy at large.
In particular, he stated that the entry into the Republic of Cyprus of the persons I mentioned in my speech will be allowed only to those who, upon their arrival, present a medical certificate of examination of the colon by certified medical centers from their country of origin.
Those who meet these conditions will be compulsorily placed in quarantine for 14 days, in places of accommodation to be determined by the Republic of Cyprus.

This decision, he said, this decision will take effect from the 6th after noon of March 16, 2020 and will be valid until April 30, 2020.
Moreover, President Anastasiadis said that the decision also applies to those who pass through the crossing points between free and occupied areas, except for purely humanitarian reasons and after the approval of the Minister of Interior.
At the same time, President Anastasiadis stressed that it has been decided, in the first phase, to allocate an amount of 100 million euros for the purpose of strengthening public health.

Regarding the church and the measures that the Government has decided, President Anastasiadis said that he informed His Beatitude the Archbishop of Cyprus, who, realizing the criticality of the moments, will make announcements later.
"Moments are crucial. As I said in my speech, any measures alone are not enough to ensure public health and its consequences ", the President of the Republic stressed and continued:" It is required, and I want to emphasize it once again, a feeling responsibility and social solidarity from each and every one of us in order to face the critical situation we are facing ”.
The President of the Republic said that "we are experiencing a state of emergency" and repeated what he said in my speech on Friday: "I have no doubt that with the determination of the State and the social sensitivity that we as a people have repeatedly shown in critical moments we will succeed to overcome this test as well ".
