To study new relaxations with a "background" of the exceptional epidemiological picture of the country

The exceptional epidemiological situation in Cyprus seems to unlock new relaxations in the restrictive measures. The Advisory Scientific Committee thoroughly informed the government, at yesterday's meeting at the Presidential Palace, about the situation, giving the green light for the removal of further restrictive measures and the revision of existing protocols.

The Minister of Health, Konstantinos Ioannou, stated that “all the protocols will be evaluated. We are waiting for the suggestions of the Scientific Team until Wednesday. "

For his part, Professor of Molecular Biology Dr. Petros Karagiannis stressed that "the relaxations of the fourth phase were discussed in detail as well as some anomalies that existed in some protocols that were opposed and will be removed by the Medical Services. An example is the number of children in public kindergartens and the number of children in private kindergartens. "

Among the issues on which experts have been asked is the issue of increasing the number of people allowed in restaurants, whose owners are reacting to the strict protocols that govern their operation.

Government Spokesman Kyriakos Kousios from "Mera Mesimeri" stated that "there will probably be other relaxations regarding the numbers of rallies, but always under the condition of sitting and not gathering."

The meeting also discussed the reopening of nightclubs and the burning issue of weddings and other similar receptions.
"Nothing changes for weddings," said Dr. Karagiannis, at the moment when the member of the Board of Marriage Professionals Giota Kapari stressed that "we feel very bitter and disappointed that we are deprived of the right to work."

The suggestions of the Epidemiological Team will be sent to the Presidential Authorities next week and any decisions will be announced after the end of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

Zero corona cases for the second day

From zero to zero again in a thousand but one case of corona in free Cyprus. The Ministry of Health announced yesterday for the second day zero cases of coronavirus out of a total of 1538 laboratory diagnoses, while only one hospitalized patient remains at the General Hospital of Famagusta.

The excellent epidemiological situation in Cyprus is also reflected in the data of the new national report on the course of the coronation.

As of June 30, 998 confirmed cases of the disease had been reported, with 838 of them fully recovering, or 86,3%.

The cases of the last two weeks concern the vast majority of people with a recent travel history.

According to the data, out of the 13 confirmed cases since June 17, 77%, or ten cases in particular, were people who returned from abroad, while only 23%, and in particular three cases, are considered domestic transmission of the virus. (CARD)

Assistant Professor of Epidemiology George Nikolopoulos stated that "we are moving at very good levels and we in the area of domestic transmission of the virus would say that we have dropped it to very low levels."

The reproduction rate of the coronae increases slightly, as in the first of the four methods it amounts to 1,25 while in the other three methods it is less than one.
