The examinations regarding the material sent by the activist Elias Gionis, via e-mail, regarding a case of rape and sexual exploitation in Cyprus, are coming to an end, said the Press Spokesman of the Police, Christos Andreou.

Answering a question of KYPE regarding the course of the examinations based on the information sent through the letter of Mr. Gionis regarding a case of rape and sexual exploitation in Cyprus related to a case of rape in Greece, Mr. Andreou stated: " we are towards the end ".

He added that the file, after completing the investigation, will be sent to the Legal Service "for information and to decide what happens, if something happens".

Mr. Gionis's letter was received by e-mail last week, after he had expressed his intention to send information to the Cypriot authorities about the involvement of Cyprus in rape and sexual exploitation circuits. A special investigative team, composed of members of the Anti-Trafficking Office, was set up to evaluate all the information provided through the letter.
