The Deputy Ministry of Culture announced that applications are being accepted for the employment of three fixed-term employees, to perform administrative duties in the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, for a fixed-term project arising in relation to the administrative support of the cultural program of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council during the first half of 2026.
It is noted that the employment will be temporary and immediate, with an estimated start time in March until 31.07.2026. The selection of candidates will be made according to their ranking order. The employment may be terminated either by the employer or by the employee based on the provisions of the above Law and the relevant Agreement.
Qualifications required
Candidates must have a university degree or title or equivalent qualification in at least one of the following subjects or a combination of these subjects: Philology, History, Philosophy, Archaeology, Languages, Cultural Studies, Social or Classical Studies, Fine Arts, Cultural Management.
They must have a postgraduate diploma or title, or equivalent qualification in at least one of the above subjects or a combination of these subjects, at least two years of experience in organizing cultural activities, very good knowledge of Greek and very good knowledge of English.
They must also have integrity of character, responsibility, organizational and administrative ability, initiative, judgment, ability to work under tight deadlines, and communication and organizational skills.
A PhD in one of the subjects mentioned above is an advantage. Good knowledge of French or another European language is an advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
Successful candidates execute, implement and participate in the handling of organizational issues based on the instructions and guidelines given to them in the context of the preparation of the cultural program in Cyprus and abroad, for the actions that have been launched within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in Cyprus.
Furthermore, they collaborate on a systematic basis with all involved bodies in Cyprus and abroad (government departments and services, artistic curators, Diplomatic Missions of Cyprus abroad, collaborating museums abroad).
They implement the legislation and regulations relevant to their duties, promote tender procedures where required and conduct the related correspondence. They also coordinate the arrangement of meetings and keep minutes, control and promote the payments of participants in the cultural program.
In addition, they perform any other duties assigned to them in relation to the cultural programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, the preparation and assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the EU by the Republic of Cyprus.
In a second phase, the top 9 candidates in the ranking order based on the above evaluation criteria will be invited to an oral interview. During the interview, the following score will be given according to the judgment of the competent evaluation committee, which will be calculated with the score of the candidates' qualifications.
