The Police continue to receive complaints regarding suspicious misleading e-mails that are sent en masse to the public and falsely represent the Cyprus Police, calling unsuspecting citizens that they are involved and should be charged with various criminal offenses via the Internet (sexual assault, rape, child pornography, etc.).
The misleading messages are sent from fake email addresses and bear the logos of the Cyprus Police.
The Police informs the public that the messages are fake and have no connection with the Cyprus Police. The public is again urged to be particularly careful and not to respond if they receive such a message.
For the purpose of confirming any pending matter with the Police, the public is encouraged to contact the known Police communication channels.
