Hellenic Bank informs about the escalation of telephone fraud and clarifies that the Bank will never request personal data via telephone, sms or viber.
An outbreak of telephone fraud (telephones, sms, viber) has been observed in Cyprus, where personal data of Bank customers are requested for possible malicious use. The police and the cybercrime service have already been informed.
Hellenic Bank, in an effort to inform its customers states the following:
The Bank will never ask you for passwords, account numbers, card codes, OTP (verification message).
If you receive any message or call asking you to reveal personal and bank details such as account numbers, your card details or that your card has been deactivated, call us for confirmation at 8000 9999 (from Cyprus) or +357 22 500500 ( from abroad).
